Packaging: Naturland

Naturland is a conceptual packaging project by Hungarian second year student Barbara Bernat who was tasked with creating an alternative visual style for an organic product range that included 3 varieties of shower gel in and 2 types of hand cream.

“I wanted to emphasise the organic feel by using vegetal ornament on the label, with minimalistic typography. It was important to find a style of illustration which could be applied to all the products, and limns all kinds of herbs in the same style.”

I was really drawn to Barbara’s single tone illustrative style which is nicely rendered with a good sense of light and shadow throughout. The horizontal layout of the information is well considered while the type choice has a classic feel that compliments a traditional/home-made/organic sensibility.
