Package design and branding for Bibelot designed by A Friend Of Mine

Bibelot is a luxury European-inspired dessert boutique in Melbourne with a coffee bar, chocolate shop, high tea salon, gelaterie and artisinal patisserie. It features an interior of long marble counters, a light spotted stone floor, spot lighting, cornicing, black and white walls, as well as bronze and tiled detailing.

Informed by the sense of place and the permanence that underpins Bibelot’s concept, reflected in its classic interior flourishes, graphic design studio A Friend Of Mine developed a brand identity that links interior, signage and packaging, makes a connection with craft, through traditional monochromatic mosaics and a geometric sans-serif logotype, and draws out, using bright spot colour panels, the colourful detail, distinctive flavour and variety of its confectionery.

Life or Death by DIA, United States

Branding for PR and management business Life Or Death by DIA

Life or Death is a New York and LA based full-service public relations and management business with hip hop roots. It draws its name from the idea that, within the music industry, there is no middle ground, it is either life or death. This abstraction and dual notion manifests itself within the firm’s new brand identity system, designed by DIA, as a black and white colour palette and a contrast of dynamic script logo and a static sans-serif logotype across business cards, artist cards, brochure, tote bags and responsive website. DIA describe their intentions as wanting to create an artistic and fashionable identity that honours Life or Death’s hip hop origins, and marks the firm’s move into fashion, art, and writing.

Logo, visual identity and package design by Huaman Studio for mat and rug business Hidraulik

Hidraulik is a Barcelona based business producing rugs for contemporary spaces. These are inspired by cement panels hydraulically pressed, rather than fired, with a layer of coloured pigment.

Hydraulic panels originated in the 1850’s and experienced a resurgence in the mid 20th century, these would often feature brightly coloured and detailed patterns, and were popular during an era of personalisation and interior expression. Hydraulic brings these into the present, by applying a similar aesthetic qualitiy to a thin, flexible and moveable surface.

The range includes a variety of Art Nouveau prints produced in house, and modernist inspired designs developed by Huaman, the graphic design studio also responsible for Hidraulik’s brand identity, business card and package design.
