Yksi elämä is a Finnish project set-up with the intention of encouraging people to become more interested in their own well-being and to improve public health care on both a professional and organisational level, as well as society in general. The project is a collaborative endeavour between the Brain Association, Diabetes Association and Heart Association of Finland.
Design studio Tsto were asked to create a visual identity for Yksi elämä that would reflect its forward-thinking and encouraging nature in a playful way. Bright colour, white paper, irregular letter-form alignment and a very smart use of negative space across the character work effectively draw a distinctive, youthful yet sophisticated quality from what is a simple logo-centric approach and an ink economy.
Ritualize is a cross-platform fitness and lifestyle app that utilises leaderboards, education, challenges and exercises to establish and track small habits that should lead to improved physical and mental health, and a sense of well-being over time. Shorthand, an independent brand identity and graphic design studio based in Newcastle, Australia, were recently commissioned to help bring the app to market. This included naming, visual identity, website and stationery design as well as establishing the look and feel of the app’s user interface.
Triumph & Disaster (T&D) is a male skincare and accessory brand that appropriates the traditional grooming experience associated with the past and fuses it with the high quality, natural and scientifically formulated expectations of today’s market. T&D’s packaging, created by New Zealand based design studio DDMMYY, references and confidently brings the type-heavy, heraldic detail, and traditional structural and material choices of the past into the present with a clear communicative consistency and an unusual but distinctive white on black colour palette. DDMMYY continue to work with Triumph & Disaster and have recently published images of their packaging solution for the brand’s latest travel kit On The Road.
