Logotype for Lima-based architecture and design firm Arde by IS Creative Studio, Peru

Arquitectura Diseño y Espacio, abbreviated to Arde, is a Peruvian architecture and design firm creating contemporary structures that have a strong sense of light and space, a preference for the geometric and often juxtapose exposed architectural surfaces with those that are natural and crafted.

Lima-based IS Creative Studio recently worked with Arde on naming and visual identity that would link a variety of assets. These included stationery, business cards, signage and a new website.

Building out from, and as an expression of name, which in Spanish means to burn like a flame (functioning as a metaphor for constant transformation and the growth of the firm), IS Creative Studio created a visual identity that expresses a sense of space, energy and architectural structure through plenty of white, a distinctive neon colour palette and geometric logotype and custom typography.

Latin American Design Festival ’16 by IS Creative Studio, Peru

Branding for Latin American Design Festival 2016 by IS Creative Studio

The Latin American Design Festival is an organisation that promotes Latin American Design internationally and looks to highlight the social potential of design using lectures, workshops, exhibitions and complementary activities. This year’s festival, as with previous events, took place in the Peruvian city of Lima, with guest speaks that included Stefan Sagmeister, Yuko Shimizu and Stockholm Design Lab.

IS Creative Studio, who worked on LADFest’s 2015 visual identity, continue to collaborate with the festival, delivering a system that, in contrast to last year’s grids and neon inks, favours moments of irregularity, fewer colours, the flourish of a metallic gold and the urban and utilitarian qualities of spray paint and stencil cut type. This extends across a variety of print communication that included posters, lanyards, programmes, flyers, presentation graphics and signage.

Poster and visual identity for Latin American Design Festival by IS Creative Studio

The Latin American Design Festival is an organisation that promotes Latin American Design internationally and looks to highlight the social potential of design using lectures, workshops, exhibitions and complementary activities. This year’s festival took place in the Peruvian city of Lima with guest speaks that included Jessica Walsh, Brandlab and Anagrama.

LAD’s visual identity, developed by IS Creative Studio and extending across posters, lanyards, programmes, flyers, presentation graphics and signage, leverages the universal ISO A series paper standard, a diverse and bright colour palette and an economy in print, as a way to represent different countries and cultures, and the graphic language, standards and creativity that connects them.
