Brand identity and product card by Seattle-based design studio Shore for Natasha Alphonse Ceramics

Natasha Alphonse is a ceramic artist raised in the Saskatchewan province of Canada who now works from a studio in the US city of Seattle. Her ceramics are characterised by a mix of simple forms, irregular surfaces and an earthiness in colour and texture. With a desire to scale her brand into a viable business Natasha worked with American graphic design studio Shore to develop a new visual identity and retail platform. This included business cards, headed paper, product cards, art direction and e-commerce website.

Hatch Cold Brew Coffee brand identity, illustration and packaging by Toronto based graphic design studio Tung

Toronto-based Hatch is a coffee roaster producing ready-to-drink cold brew coffee from high quality natural ingredients using a craft-oriented twice-filtered manufacturing process and a unique bottling technology to seal in fresh flavour. Hatch intends to bring cold brew coffee from a niche but growing market into the mainstream and worked with Canadian graphic design studio Tung to help them achieve this through brand identity and packaging.

Park Bench Deli by Foreign Policy, Singapore

Brand identity, print and packaging by Foreign Policy for Singapore's Park Bench Deli

Park Bench Deli is located on Singapore’s Telok Ayer St and features a rich interior design, styled on the all-American deli, that mixes a variety of vintage textures and ornament. These include tiled floors and wood panelled walls alongside personal items of the shop owners. Brand identity shares a similarly busy and material quality, referencing park life, and made up of menus, packaging, and lots of small takeaways such as stickers, embroidered patches and key rings. Although launched in 2015, Foreign Policy, the studio behind both brand identity and interior design, recently documented and published the project on their newly launched website.

Faust by Snøhetta, Norway

Brand identity, stationery and custom typeface by Snøhetta for Oslo-based high-end shoemaker Faust

Faust is a high-end shoemaker with its first signature store located in Oslo’s Barcode area. The shop is a small but impressive space consisting of five concrete niches and large carved wooden doors. Faust worked with Scandinavian studio Snøhetta to create both interior and brand identity. This was based around the The legend of Faust from the Renaissance, its basis for many literary, artistic, cinematic and musical works through the ages, and Faust as an ambitious person who surrenders moral integrity in order to achieve power and success. These served as historical reference points, taking a look back at a period where all shoes were handmade and bespoke. This then informed the calligraphic strokes of signage, wordmark and custom typography, is seen in the materiality of identity across stationery, business cards and packaging, and in the wood and vaulted forms of interior design.
