Branding for Edvard Munch High School by Oslo based graphic design studio Snøhetta

Edvard Munch High School provides students with a broad programme of study, with a particular focus on creative classes such as music, dance, product design and textiles, in conjunction with core academic subjects. Classes are given in a newly refurbished, early 20th century building, and the former home of the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.

To coincide with the refurbishment, the school also launched a new brand identity system, created by Norwegian graphic design studio Snøhetta, and based around theme of duality and the concept perspectives, a reflection of the school’s academic and creative programme, versatility and knowledge. This extended to posters, business card, brochure, tote bag and signage, some of which feature a folded, three-dimensional, interactive component.

Edouard Malingue Gallery by Lundgren+Lindqvist, Sweden

Edouard Malingue Gallery exhibits work by emerging and established artists from around the world across its 6000 sq ft space in central Hong Kong. Through collaborations with international curators, and its own publications, alongside solo exhibitions, the gallery looks to introduce art into public spaces and to stimulate public discourse.

The gallery features an interior that juxtaposes the white unblemished walls and plinths you might expect from a modern art gallery with the irregular qualities and cool greys of cast concrete, exposed utilities, strip lighting above and grey tiles below. It also utilises a visual identity system developed by Swedish graphic design studio Lundgren+Lindqvist. This was launched to coincide with the gallery’s move to larger premises.

Lundgren+Lindqvist’s visual identity concept makes a connection between the three strokes of a simplified E and M (the initials of Edouard Malingue), the three words that make up the gallery’s name (Edouard Malingue Gallery) and its location on 33 Deux Veux Street. This is visualised as trisections through a grid system which underpins the print and website layout of custom typography, and informs the number folds across leaflets, letters and posters.

STRP Biennial 2015 by Raw Color, The Netherlands

Branding by Raw Color for Dutch art, technology and experimental pop culture festival STRP 2015.

STRP brings together art, technology and experimental pop culture, and connects these to a broad audience, and through its light art, interactive art and robotic performances, lectures, workshops, music and film events, offers a glimpse into the future. This culminates with the STRP Biennial, an indoor art and technology festival that provides visitors with an opportunity to experience the extent to which new technology reaches into popular culture, the arts, and their everyday lives. This year’s biennial took place in Eindhoven, hosted over 29,00 guests, and featured a visual identity created by graphic design studio Raw Color which covered a variety of print communication including brochures, posters and business cards.
