Tenant guide book designed by dn&co. for commercial space Here East

Here East is a 1.2 million sq ft commercial space developed by Delancey and housed within the former Olympic Press and Broadcast Centre near Hackney Wick in East London. Here East is described as an ecosystem looking to attract businesses from the design, technology and modern manufacturing sectors who are looking to scale, and those of scale looking to behave more creatively. So far BT Sport, Lougborough University, Infinity and Hackney Community College have all signed up for space.

Here East’s brand identity, developed by dn&co., reflects its intentions of bringing together specific business types and the connected nature of its space through a contrast of digital generative elements and physical handcrafted detail. The studio was also responsible for Here East’s broader brand strategy alongside Poke, who designed the website, and architects Hawkins\Brown. This post was updated in 2016 with images of signage and wayfinding, and 2018 with tenant guide, bus liveries and brand book.

Copper foil business cards by Manual for online wine and spirits gift service Merchants Of Beverage

Merchants of Beverage is an online service that aims to make buying and gifting luxury items easy. Products include wines, spirits and Champagne’s, as well as hand-blown crystal stemware and professional barware. Each item has been handpicked and curated by a team of experts and sourced from a variety of international artisans. The service’s new brand identity, which included monogram, logotype, stationery and packaging design, art direction and e-commerce website, and features photography from Doron Gild and illustration by Sharon Hwang, was managed by San Francisco based Manual.

PangPang Summer Beer designed by Snask

Packaging with custom lettering designed by Swedish design company Snask for microbrewery PangPang's 2014 summer beers

PangPang is a Stockholm based microbrewery that was established by oddball Fredrik Tunedal in 2011. Fredrik, only 23 at the time, tattooed PangPang across his knuckles to celebrate the founding of what he believes to be Sweden’s first microbrewery. These knuckles now form the basis of the brewery’s logotype.

Swedish design studio Snask were commissioned to develop a strategy for PangPang’s 2014 summer series of hand brewed beers that would help them to compete within a growing craft beer sector and with the increasing number of microbreweries. This would be achieved by creating a playful visual identity and packaging solution that would stand out on shelves stacked with beer labels that often lacked individual character. The design and naming was built around the theme of tiki — a choice that felt suitable for summer beers and would create an ideal opportunity for interesting, distinctive and cheeky names. These included Cocojambo, Playa del Drevviken, Waikiki, Libertango and Tiki Tango.
