Logotype by Stockholm-based Bold for Arlanda Airport restaurant Pontus In The Air

Pontus In The Air is located at Sweden’s Arlanda Airport and was developed with the intention of being Europe’s leading airport restaurant in its blend of high quality, affordable prices and fast service. It features three distinct areas, The Brasserie, a classic bistro with table service inspired by the golden days of aviation, The Market, a self-service canteen with a more utilitarian finish, and Take-off, an area dedicated to take-ways.

Owners Pontus Frithof, a Swedish company founded by renowned chef Pontus Stenshäll, worked with Stockholm-based graphic design studio Bold, following their collaboration on city restaurant Tidningshuset by Pontus, to create a name and visual identity for this latest project. Inspired by chef Pontus Stenshäll’s colourful and charismatic character, the movement and energy of the airport, and with a desire to work together luxury and an element of humour, Bold crafted an identity of typographical play yet simplicity, and convivial illustrative detail. This links business cards, menus, mobile app, interior graphics and website.

Norwegian Structure by Bielke & Yang, Norway

Logo, branding and print by Oslo-based studio Bielke & Yang for contemporary crafts and design exhibition Norwegian Structure

Structure is an exhibition of Norwegian contemporary crafts and design that began its European journey at Milan Design Week in April 2017 and is currently being held at Norwegische Botschaft in Berlin until April 2017. The exhibition features the work of 26 designers and studios, and covers a variety of products and prototypes; from furniture to lighting, to ceramics, textiles and home accessories. Structure intends to bring to the light the designer and manufacturing partnerships, and the intersection of craft and design, artistry and innovation that characterises the Norwegian creative scene. This intersection is expressed by the exhibition’s brand identity, created by Oslo-based graphic design studio Bielke & Yang, through type and typesetting, illustrative texture and art direction, proportionality, layering and materiality.

Konserthuset Stockholm by Kurppa Hosk, Sweden

Logo, stationery and posters by Kurppa Hosk for cultural institution Konserthuset and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra

Konserthuset Stockholm is home to the internationally recognised Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, and is described as one of Sweden’s most famous and important cultural institutions. Graphic design studio Kurppa Hosk worked with the institution to create a brand identity that would integrate the corporate aspect of venue, one of iconic status and significant cultural legacy, with the passion and dynamism of the orchestra it plays host to. This is achieved through imposing typographic scheme, colour palettes, use of grids and a logo that gives physical gesture graphic form. Brand identity links a variety of assets. These include stationery and business cards, bags, programs, posters, ad campaign, signage and website.
