Packaging design by Barcelona-based studio Atipus for Vi Novell 2016, a young wine from producer Celler Masroig

Vi Novell 2016 is a young wine from Catalonia with an intense ruby colour and a fresh and fruity flavour profile. It is the seventh in an ongoing series, and is dedicated to the party; the open-air dance, the joy and celebration of the beginning of the season, the first sip of wine, shared with friends, and the continued enjoyment of a long tradition yet in tune with modern times. Wine producer Celler Masroig worked with Barcelona-based graphic design studio Atipus to capture this moment and spirit with a striking packaging design, followed up online with a site that blends dynamic pattern and story.

DOIY by Folch, Spain

Logo, art direction, print and packaging by Barcelona-based Folch for product design company DOIY

DOIY is product design company creating playful objects that move between the useful and the more whimsical. These include items such as icepop socks, bicycle pizza slicer and unicorn scent. Much of this is firmly tongue-in-cheek but good quality, retailing in high-end and design-focused stores as well as larger chains.

With the introduction of materials such as ceramics, woods, metal and porcelain across its new ranges, and a desire to reach a wider market whilst retaining its current customers DOIY worked with Barcelona-based studio Folch to mature its brand identity. This included packaging and print communication that share a new and distinctive approach to photography; a collaboration between Folch, paper and set designer Raya Sader Bujana and photographer Leo García Mendez.

Brand identity design for Barcelona hotel Casa Bonay by Mucho, Spain

Casa Bonay is a unique hotel destination in the neighbourhood of Eixample Dret, Barcelona, housed within a historic nineteenth century building with a neo-classical façade. Although the setting has a strong historical value, inside and out, the hotel experience makes a connection with the creative talent that populates the city today. This is achieved through collaboration with pioneering chefs, young designers, renowned furniture brands and an independent publisher to create menus, interiors and books.

Casa Boney’s brand identity, created by graphic design studio Mucho, is a visual articulation of the hotel’s free-spirited attitude and the coexistence of disparate personalities and styles. Where the hotel’s interior features classical masonry, period furnishings and darker hues alongside areas of modern restraint, utility and light, Mucho’s brand identity is colourful, eccentric and playful. This reaches across coasters, packaging and a variety of other printed materials.
