Bulbo is a San Pedro, (MX) based boutique lighting shop that specialises in high-end products and interior planning. The brand approached independent design agency Anagrama to develop a visual identity that would unite the company’s experience of light and space with the contemporary elegance of their products.
Commando Group is an Oslo based, multi-disciplined, visual communications agency. Towards the end of last year the group embarked on a rebranding exercise replacing their previous running horse logo-mark and script logo-type with a simple, geometric head, utilising chess as an analogy to deliver a clearer, less superflous and more authoritative brand message.
There are a lot of design blogs available today and I’m committed to making BP&O stand out and wanted to write a quick note on how I go about creating content for the site.
I have over 300 bookmarks I check daily and spend roughly three hours in that day writing and researching articles often getting up very early prior to starting my own design projects. Before I begin, I check high profile and respected blogs such as The Dieline and Brand New to make sure I am not duplicating articles and can add something new. Rather than just posting images and copying content directly from the agencies website I try to explore and analyse the direction and execution of each project and offer a unique opinion which I’m very happy to be questioned on. Nearly all the articles on BP&O have been sourced directly from these agencies and this helps me to avoid duplication of other blog content.
I know there are a number of people who frequently return to read my articles and I really appreciate their continued support. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy today’s article.
I Heart Logos is a new 240 page logo collection book and the culmination of a years worth of logo submissions to their website from designers all over the world.
A compact book 203mm x 126mm in size with a limited run of a 1000 copies contains around 460 logos presented in order of community votes.
An odd title for a book that isn’t really a book of ‘basic’ logos but rather a compact and broad selection of recent logo designs from around the globe.
The Basic series (beginning with Logos) is the offering of Barcelona based publisher Index Book with ‘Basic Pack’ and ‘Basic Identity’ to follow later this year.
