Ascui & Co. Architects is an Melbourne-based studio with a rich history, depth of experience and a vision they describe as being a true perspective rather than one founded on intuition. Their projects are considered smart and environmentally sustainable, unexpected yet grounded by purpose, and range from residential additions to multimillion-dollar commercial developments.

Anchored in the concept of Process & Possibility — a maxim that refers to the rhythm and harmony, beauty and functionality of Ascui & Co.’s work — Grosz Co. Lab designed a flexible brand identity system that celebrates the studio’s creative and progressive nature through a visual language of morphing patterns and an ever-changing ‘temperature’ based colour palette.

Logo and packaging designed by Interabang for British handmade, five-hour baked bean range Proper Beans

Proper Beans is a handmade baked bean range created in the English countryside and available from Fortnum & Mason. Proper’s mission is to “reinstate baked beans as the premium meal it once was” with six unique flavour combinations. These include Fava Beans & Smoked Pork Collar, Hamhock, Potato & Thyme and Smoked Bacon & English Mustard. The story and passion behind the brand, as well as the product’s Britishness and handmade quality, is visualised as a distinctive crest and simple packaging treatment designed by London based studio Interabang, and website by James Hayter and Mike Polom.

Iona Brown is a London based contemporary jewellery designer who favours classic simplicity, understated detail, precise finishes and minimalist lines, shapes and materials. Graphic designer and art director Sam Flaherty recently worked with Iona to develop a new visual identity for her expanding collection. Built around a customised logotype and a simple print and packaging treatment that uses few but good quality and contrasting paper and print choices, the solution reflects the key aesthetic and design values that run throughout Iona’s work.
