Brand identity and gold block foiled business cards by Canadian studio Glasfurd & Walker for Vancouver-based luxury make-up and styling salon The Glamoury.

The Glamoury is a Vancouver-based luxury make-up and styling salon where the classical and timeless meets the modern. The salon takes a personal approach, creating tailored looks that express the personality of its clients. It has a distinctive interior of period shapes, sufaces and detailing, flat colour and illustrative borders, and a brand identity, designed by Glasfurd & Walker, to match. This runs across menus, stationery, business cards and packaging, and features custom typography.

Smithey Ironware Company by Stitch, United States

Brand identity and tags with green paper and white ink detail for Smithey Ironware Company by Charleston based Stitch, United States

Smithey is an ironworks producing kitchenware from its location in Charleston, South Carolina. Smithey’s first product, a 10 inch skillet, features a smooth, non-stick cooking surface, created using a handcrafted method of finishing and polishing. This process was developed in response to the rough, coarse and sandpaper-like finish that proliferates the ironware market, which creates an uneven surface temperature, makes it difficult to cook with and uses a lot of energy.

Stitch Design Company, also based in Charleston, worked with Smithey to develop a visual identity that would extend across website, print communication and tags. Much of this is informed by the robust and crafted qualities of Smithey’s products, but also builds in a touch of character. This is expressed through type, materiality and motif.

Arde by IS Creative Studio, Peru

Logotype for Lima-based architecture and design firm Arde by IS Creative Studio, Peru

Arquitectura Diseño y Espacio, abbreviated to Arde, is a Peruvian architecture and design firm creating contemporary structures that have a strong sense of light and space, a preference for the geometric and often juxtapose exposed architectural surfaces with those that are natural and crafted.

Lima-based IS Creative Studio recently worked with Arde on naming and visual identity that would link a variety of assets. These included stationery, business cards, signage and a new website.

Building out from, and as an expression of name, which in Spanish means to burn like a flame (functioning as a metaphor for constant transformation and the growth of the firm), IS Creative Studio created a visual identity that expresses a sense of space, energy and architectural structure through plenty of white, a distinctive neon colour palette and geometric logotype and custom typography.
