Clive’s is producer of healthy, handmade, free-from foods that include a variety of pies, pasties, dips and cakes. They have a small dedicated team working from a kitchen in South Devon and ship their products nationally to health food shops such as Holland & Barrett and to online retailers goodnessdirect and Ocado. Design studio Believe In have worked with Clive’s since 2005 and have been responsible for creating the packaging for many of their products. Recently, Believe In were given the opportunity to update the packaging for Clive’s original range of individual gluten free pies — which have rapidly grown in popularity — and for their frozen twin packs as they expand into Europe.
Terence Woodgate is a lighting design and manufacturing business, founded by industrial designer Terence Woodgate in 2014, that looks to “fully optimise the benefits of LED technology”. Charlie Smith Design recently worked with Terence Woodgate to develop a visual identity for the business and modular packaging treatment for its first line of products as well as manuals, fitting instructions and website.
Graphical House and Derek Welsh Studio recently produced a special edition version of their distinctive domino set and collaborative project Oblique for Paul Smith. The dominoes, handcrafted in walnut using 45 processes, 8,400 hand drilled holes, 155m of walnut, 15m² of laminate, 75m² of 150 grit sandpaper, 20m² of 320 grit sandpaper and 18 hand files, come in a drawstring bag packed in a navy and pink box with a foil print finish.
