The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux designed by Kokoro & Moi

The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux (Fins Cultureel Instituut, Institut Culturel Finlandais) is a non-profit organisation that promotes Finnish arts and culture to the Benelux countries of the Netherlands, France and Belgium, with the intention of fostering collaborative opportunities for artists and organisations within the fields of music, literature, design, cinema and the performing and visual arts. The institute’s visual identity, designed by creative agency Kokoro & Moi, juxtaposes the horizontal, modernist formality and contemporary professionalism of a broadly spaced, uppercase and geometric sans serif execution of one language with the slanted, stamp and craft-like treatment of another.

Bernard Boutique is an award-winning fashion store with a thirty year history that mixes the latest collections from established brands such as Givenchy, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney with the work of new upcoming designers. The boutique’s new visual identity, recently developed by creative design agency Bunch and extended across signage, bags, boxes, tags and other in-store collateral, contrasts a bold and masculine logotype solution with the tactile and feminine detail of the collaterals.

Cuckoo is an underground electronic music venue, cocktail and tapas bar located on Adelaide’s Hindley Street. To celebrate their fifth year in business multi-disciplinary design studio Band was commissioned to develop a new visual identity and interior design for the venue. The result is an unusual mixed typographical solution that favours personality over design convention appropriately tempered by a consistent collateral and interior solution with craft-cues.
