The Tomato Stall is a grower of speciality tomatoes whose distinct flavour is attributed to the increased sunshine they receive from being farmed on the southern English island of the Isle of Wight. From these, The Tomato Stall produces a range of ‘tomato inspired’ artisanal products that are stocked by farm shops and delis throughout the UK and sold from their own market stalls across London and the south.

With a desire to appeal to ‘sophisticated foodies’ and achieve a more established market position capable of meeting the needs of big supermarkets, Designers Anonymous developed a new brand identity and packaging treatment that delivers a clearer brand story, has a strong sense of provenance and a contemporary crafted sensibility through custom typography, bright colour and illustrative flourish.

Desi Cooks is described by Designers Anonymous – the studio behind their new brand strategy, logo and packaging – as a “kitchen-table start-up enterprise” that batch produce original recipes for the prepared Asian food market. The studio was tasked with taking the brand name ‘Desi Cooks’, a “homely, traditional term for the people, cultures, and products of India”, and developing a packaging solution that communicated traditional authenticity and modern-day convenience.

Designers Anonymous is London-based multidisciplinary design agency with global clients from a variety of sectors. The agency has appeared on BP&O on a number of occasions, with highlights including their packaging work for Zest and Patchett’s, and their identity work for Fuller’s hospitality brands The Parcel Yard, The Tokenhouse and Brewer St.

Following the launch of their new website this week, Designers Anonymous has published images of their new visual identity system. Based around large symbols and sans-serif type, plenty of space and a neat print finish, this new identity communicates, in an unusually efficient but also playful manner, the goals of the agency.
