Branding for The Bone Line designed by Inhouse

The Bone Line is a New Zealand winery with a name that references the K—T Boundary, a thin band that runs close to The Bone Line’s location in the Waipara Valley, and that marks the end of the Mesozoic Era and the extinction of the dinosaurs. Auckland based graphic design studio Inhouse worked with the winery to establish a distinctive packaging and identity treatment. Like many good wine label solutions, Inhouse have taken its cues from the provenance of the wine. While conventional, this approach benefits from a significant regional prehistory that ties in well with the themes of age and vintage, and is effectively visualised through a contrast of type reduction, the detailed texture of fossil photography and a black, white and copper colour palette.

Daebeté is a floral infused tea range that uses a high-grade Taiwanese oolong variety, made using a unique process of withering, oxidation, curling and twisting, that has then been given a floral hint using ancient baking methods. This process creates a subtle yet sweet flavour profile that carefully balances the aroma of flowers with the flavour of tea. The packaging for the Daebeté range, developed by Victor Design, was inspired by the natural beauty and ecology of the flower growing regions of each infusion, conveys the craft of production, the tradition of tea preparation, quality and delicate flavour, through a good combination of illustration, typography, print finish and structural choice.

Packaging designed by Savvy for premium craft beer label Finísima

Finísima is the latest ale to emerge from the independent Mexican beer brewing category and is described as being for both those unaccustomed with the world of artisanal beer and the connoisseur.

The ale’s packaging treatment, created by Mexican design studio Savvy, reflects its artisanal origin “without sacrificing the reach and reception of more commercial brands” by combining familiar craft aesthetics with those of an established premium nature.
