Swedish Forest Industries Federation by BVD, Sweden

Brand identity and blind emboss brochure for Skogsindustrierna, the Swedish Forest Industries Federation, by BVD

With the intention of better communicating the endless possibilities of the forest, the concept of Bioeconomy and a commitment to a sustainable future, Skogsindustrierna, the representative of the Swedish pulp, paper and woodworking industries, worked with Scandinavian design studio BVD to help move them away from a complicated tonality and give their communication a clarity, focus and accessibility.

With this in mind, the studio created an identity and communication platform that presents the forest in a fresh and unconventional way. This included a new and concise approach to tone of voice, expressed through a consistent use of Futura and clear speaking and compelling videography, image contrast, a light and contemporary colour palette, the utility and technological undertone of monolinear icons, and the innovative and sustainable qualities of FibreForm in print.

The Fableists designed by Freytag Anderson

Opinion by Richard Baird.

Logo and uncoated, unbleached stationery with fluorescent green ink print finish for children's fashion brand The Fableists designed by Freytag Anderson featured on BPO

The Fableists is a children’s clothing company that creates quality basics, predominantly unisex, designed to last with ‘punk rock flair’ and utilitarian, vintage clothing and work wear influence. Their products are underpinned by a sustainable brand philosophy that pays and treats their suppliers fairly, considers its impact on the environment and aims to educate buyers on the complete life cycle of their collections.

Design agency Freytag Anderson developed a new brand identity for the Fabelists which extended to business cards, tags and stationery. This draws together and communicates the brand’s flair, the clothing’s utility and the reduced environmental impact of production through a simple and precise communicative combination of a bright contemporary fluorescent green and the energy of a lightning F motif, the consistency, efficiency and reliability of an uppercase sans-serif, the textures and mixed tones of three different unbleached, uncoated material choices, and the economy of single and two ink print production.

Feral Sphere designed by Mind

Logo design by Mind, in collaboration with illustrator Lenia Hauser, for fashion label Feral Sphere

Established by Goldsmiths graduate Holly James earlier this year, Feral Sphere is a UK-based fashion label that creates simple, colourful and comfortable clothing and accessories made from organic cotton using 100% renewable solar and wind energy. The label’s brand identity and packaging solution, created by Mind Design working in collaboration with illustrator Lenia Hauser, was “inspired by Japanese Shinto spirits and the ghost in the TV series ‘Lost'” and utilises what Mind describe as a ‘many logos and none solution’, a technical typographic detail, an earthy material choice and the contemporary economy and impact of a green and black ink combination.
