Ocean (Океан) is a Russian brand of premium vodka whose packaging has recently been re-imagined by Rostov-na-Donu (Russia) based Alexey Seoev. The illustrative design utilises a painted aesthetic, gold detailing and deep aqua green to capture the mystical qualities of early seafaring.
Brash Higgins is a wine range produced by Omensetter, a vineyard of red-brown clay and sandstone located in McLaren Vale (Australia). The bottle’s labels, created by design agency Swear Words, capture the earthy flavours of the wine, handcrafted clay amphoras used in the production process and the soil qualities through a warm water-colour palette, orange foil treatment and a tactile uncoated substrate.
Following my earlier review of Whitworths for Baking, a new cooking sugar from Napier Brown, Billington’s, owned by The Silver Spoon Company, has launched its own repackaged range of sugar created by JKR. The design takes a bold, colourful and contemporary approach to classic illustrated typography and is based around an iconic B character drawn from Billington’s previous and fairly antiquated design.
