The Best Brand Identities of 2016

2016’s brand identity highlights included Franklyn’s work for Kimski, which featured some playful and idiosyncratic illustrative detail, Triboro’s colourful imagery for New York restaurant Sauvage, and Sagmeister & Walsh’s brand identity and mural for Otium. However, there were five projects that stood out, and have made it into BP&O’s Best Of Series.

This feature brings together the most interesting, unexpected or unusual projects published on the site in 2016 for another opportunity to be seen and shared. These balance a strong concept with a compelling aesthetic and communicative intention that, between them, appropriately plays with photography, colour, texture, layout, form, type, print finish and on one occasion, also extends to interior design.

  The Best of BP&O – Brochures No.6

The sixth collection of brochures, lookbooks, brand guidelines, catalogues and invitations published on BP&O. These mix layout, material choice and print finish, and between them effectively utilise colour, type, proportion, image, texture and paper contrast to communicate, compel and contribute to a distinctive brand identity. This selection features uncoated and coated papers, spot colours, blind deboss, die cuts and open stitching, and includes work by graphic design studios Bravo, Spy and Studio South.

  The Best of BP&O – September 2016

September’s highlights included Franklyn’s work for Vonhof, Uproot by Believe in to celebrate the studio’s expansion into Canada, and Bond’s brand identity for Moi Helsinki. However, there were five projects that stood out, and have made it into BP&O’s Best Of Series.

This feature brings together some of the most unusual / distinctive projects published on the site each month for another opportunity to be seen and shared. These typically balance a strong communicative concept with a compelling aesthetic that appropriately plays with a mix of form, colour, type and layout, as well as material, texture, image and print finish.
