Branding for Malmö restaurant Bord 13 by Swedish graphic design studio Snask

Bord 13 is a restaurant, located on Malmö’s Engelbrektsgatan, with a menu that steers clear of the overfished, the modified and unnatural. It is a collaboration between chefs Robert Jacobson and Besnik Gashi, a former Souschef and a Head Sommelier from world-renowned Noma, and features a brand identity and interior design by Scandinavian studio Snask. This extended to material, lighting and furniture choices, and included menu and coaster design, branded chef whites and signage.

Park Distillery Vodka by Glasfurd & Walker, Canada

Park is a bar, restaurant and distillery located in the Canadian resort town of Banff, within the Banff National Park, and the province of Alberta. It is a region of diverse natural beauty, with mountains, prairies, forests and desert badlands that attract walkers, campers and skiers.

Park Restaurant is a celebration of Banff’s alpine history and lifestyle. This runs throughout its interior, campfire-inspired menu and a brand identity by Vancouver based graphic design studio Glasfurd & Walker which plays with the visual vernacular of mountain trails, camping equipment and walking clothes through type, colour and texture. Check out the project and BP&O’s review here.

Glasfurd & Walker continue to work with Park, designing packaging for its distillery business, and its range of vodkas, using the opportunity to build out brand identity with the introduction of illustration by Cristian Fowlie, the perceived value of a silver foil, choice of structure and further material texture.

Bronuts by One Plus One Design, Canada

Branding for Bronuts by Canadian graphic design studio One Plus One

Bronuts sells handmade donuts and freshly brewed coffee to the local community of the Exchange District in Winnipeg, Canada, and, as the name suggests, is run by two brothers. Bronuts’ location draws a variety of customers, from young professionals and corporate offices to college students. It has a warm interior of light wood, white tiles, exposed architectural surfaces and low-hanging bulbs.

Much like its interior, Bronuts’ brand identity, created by graphic design studio One Plus One Design and which including stationery, packaging and signage, comfortably sits between hipness and accessibility, and is thoroughly current. This is reflected within the geometric sans-serif characters of the logotype, the simple, playful and communicatively clear donut and coffee cup iconography, the cleverness of a logo with a glaze that doubles as a smile, doughnut patterns and the straightforward application of these assets across interior and packaging. This also extends to a limited colour palette and the uncoated and debossed surface and three-ply weight of a letterpress business card.
