Minke is a Tokyo homeware store that stocks hard to find designer objects and furniture. The store’s identity, created by New York based design firm Studio Lin, neatly resolves the classic and the contemporary, the structured and the anarchic, creativity and practicality through a union of bold serif, modernistic structure, random geometric detail and a bright but restrained primary colour palette.
Madefire is a browser-based digital publishing platform and app created by Ben Wolstenholme, Liam Sharp and Eugene Walden to aid graphic novelists in the development and sharing of motion books and to provide readers with a new and dynamic digital experience. International design agency Moving Brands was responsible, from inception, for developing and defining Madefire’s purpose, visual identity, complementary assets, printed collateral and digital interface.
ÅKA is a hair salon, developed by stylist and makeup artist Alex Kormann, located in the Hillegersberg area of Rotterdam (NL). The salon’s name and visual identity, created by multidisciplinary design agency DC, utilises the high fashion and architectural sensibilities of a bold and well spaced sans serif set alongside a mono-line weight twist on the classic barber’s pole to convey precision, contemporary style and personal service.
