Monachus Distillery by Bedow

Atop of Croatia’s Istria peninsula, just where the land slips into the Adriatic sea sits the tiny small-batch gin distillery of Monachus. Stone shores, botanical covered hillsides, the smell of pine and scattered pin cones characterises the landscape. Drawing on this, the natural history of Istria and the name Monachus, borrowed from Monachus Monachus an endangered Mediterranean monk seal, Swedish design studio Bedow created a visual identity and labelling for the distillery.

Plymouth Gin by Design Bridge

Packaging with an intentionally imperfect and tinted glass design created by Design Bridge for 'super premium' Plymouth Gin

Owned by the Pernod Ricard Chivas Brothers and regionally protected, Plymouth Gin is a ‘super-premium’ product produced since 1793 at The Black Friar’s Distillery, a former monastery and the oldest distillery in England. In response to a growing and diversifying artisan market the brand approached independent and international creative agency Design Bridge to develop a solution that would replace the art deco styling of the previous packaging in favour of a more authentic and genuine solution drawn from and inspired by the distillery’s archives.
