Hume Atelier by Glasfurd & Walker

Hume Atelier is a Canadian based bespoke jewellery design and production studio established by Kevin Hume and Genevieve Ennis Hume in 2005. Their new identity, designed by brand communications agency Glasfurd & Walker draws together the contemporary details of Hume Atelier’s work and their personal service, with a modern logo-mark and classic serif combination.
The double H monogram, representative of the two founders appropriately utilises both a modern serif and sans serif solution to visually characterise and unify the very personalised, custom lead service and a technically detailed production quality. The circular container juxtaposes the linear lines of the monogram and visually analogise the evolution and transformation from base material to crafted jewellery while also representing the collaborative and complete consultation, design and fabrication process Hume Atelier offers its clients. The modern execution and Hallmark sensibility of the logo is balanced with a nice type choice that blends bold stems and light serifs to suitably express the distinctive style and timeless quality of the jewellery.
The foil treatment and uncoated substrate, black and silver colour palette and spacious layout of the collaterals neatly resolves the ideas of bespoke quality, personal service and a truth to materials in a consistent and well realised way.
