Packaging, bags and illustration by Bold for Swedish convenience store Pressbyrån

Pressbyrån is a Swedish convenience store with over 300 locations nationwide, and one of the country’s most recognised brands. It retails fresh pastry, sweets, coffee and hotdogs, alongside groceries, public transport tickets, magazines and papers, amongst a few other things. Stockholm based graphic design studio Bold worked with the store to create new packaging for its range of consumable products with the intention of distinguishing and uniting a variety of categories.

Melba at The Savoy by Pentagram, United Kingdom

Visual identity and copper foiled pâtisserie packaging designed by Pentagram for London patisserie and cafe Melba at The Savoy

Melba is a pâtisserie and cafe, located on the corner of The Strand and Savoy Place in London’s North Bank, and is one of nine places to eat and drink at The Savoy hotel. The patisserie is described as offering a glimpse into the exclusive and luxury world of The Savoy, and is the first time that the hotel, accessed via private road, will have a presence on the high street. Melba features a distinctive interior of black and white tiles, white marble alongside dark stained woods, cornicing, a curved glass counter and gold chandelier. It also features a distinctive visual identity treatment developed by UK based Pentagram partner John Rushworth.

The Assembly by Bravo, Singapore

The Assembly and The Assembly Ground are a men’s retail destination and coffee shop in Singapore. The store stocks a variety of lifestyle labels for the “fun and spontaneous gentlemen who appreciate quality” while the coffee shop is a space for like-minded individuals to get together. Graphic design studio Bravo was responsible for creating a cohesive interior design and visual identity for both experiences.

Described as classic, versatile and playful, Bravo’s treatment mixes familiar fashion patterns with hand drawn illustrative flourishes and practical sans-serif typography across menus, business cards, bags and tags, and sets these within the context of an interior of robust, industrial and earthy material textures, surfaces and furniture. The project also included neon signage and menu design.
