Campaign identity and banner by Studio fnt for the 2017–18 season at the National Theatre of Korea

The National Theater of Korea is the first nationally managed theatre in Asia. It is something of a brutalist building of textured and geometric concrete located in the neighbourhood of Jung-gu, South Korea. Each season it plays host to a broad and diverse contemporary art program of dance, music and performance, one-off events and festivals. To celebrate and announce the new season the theatre worked with Studio fnt to develop a campaign identity for 2017–18. This took the form of a bold typographic expression which links posters, large format banners and printed programs.

Boundless Theatre by Spy, United Kingdom

Logotype, posters, programme, business cards and website by London based studio Spy for Boundless Theatre

Boundless Theatre, led by Artistic Director Rob Drummer, is a UK based theatrical group that creates plays for 15 to 25 year olds, “as well as curious others”, that respond to a diverse global culture and empowers young people to collaborate and find their voice. In the spirit of the name, Boundless Theatre tours both nationally and internationally.

With the intention of increasing the profile of the theatre, developing the audience within their core demographic, and engaging with guardians, teachers and donors, Boundless Theatre worked with design studio Spy to develop a new graphic identity. This links a variety of printed materials. These included posters, programmes, business cards and box tape, and extend to digital experiences for mobile and desktop.

Branding for Hong Kong festival M+ Screenings by Project Projects, United States

M+ Screenings is an event that showcases a diverse collection of work unified by one theme and single screen. It is an ongoing event that takes place over one weekend three times a year. The first of these, Visible Places, took place in mid-January at the Broadway Cinematheque, which is located within Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, the second, Forty Years, in March, with the third to follow later this year.

Project Projects, a New York based graphic design studio that specialises in the art, architecture, education and cultural sectors, worked with M+ Screenings to devise a visual identity for its events that would unite a broad variety of print collateral and digital assets. These included, but not limited to, posters, flyers, program booklets, large-format billboards and online banners.
