Girl Scouts of the USA by Collins, 2020
For most, the logo for the Girl Scouts of the USA will be associated with Saul Bass who, in 1978, designed the silhouetted trefoil of three female figures. Aside from a slight revision by OCD in 2010, this remained consistent for 30 years. What is not as well-known, is that the trefoil, an undoubtably distinctive form on its own, has...
Girl Scouts of the USA by Collins
Not just a patch, but a full patchwork. Collins has injected ‘fashun darling’ into a club that has collected aesthetic cobwebs over the past few decades. The Girl Scouts of the USA has finally been ripped from old-world rigidity into a brand with whimsey. A reset for now, and a lifestyle brand for tomorrow. Scouts is the sort of extra-curricular...
Clutch Automotive by Parker Studio
From à la mode Lick paint to gramable Aokka coffee, everything comes in a tin these days. The rise of metal packaging solutions in food and beverages, healthcare, household and consumer is expected to accelerate by 3.1% year-on-year from 2021 to 2030, driven by the demand for sustainable alternatives to plastic and lightweight substitutes for glass. Great Wrap by A Friend of Mine, 2022
Great Wrap is the only compostable cling wrap made from food waste and, as a brand, is on a mission to end a reliance on petroleum-based plastic. Whilst serious about the science behind their product, they also believe in having fun along the way. This is wonderfully expressed by their logo, designed by A Friend Of Mine, in the plasticity and...

Peter Bailey by Bunch, 2011
Bunch delivers a modern take on the historical arts and crafts origins of the monogram for photographer Peter Bailey, neatly drawing a letter ‘b’ in the counter space of the ‘p’. What is particularly neat is the mirrored nature of the two letter-forms along the horizontal axis, capturing both sides of the lens, the photographer and the subject. See more...
Panettoni Pavolucci by Requena Office
Panettone has origins as far back as ancient Rome, but its connection to Christmas was first established in the eighteenth century. This sweet bread – originally from Milan – has earned its place across the globe as a staple of the festive season. However, earlier this summer, Barcelona-based twins Chiara and Francesca Pavolucci opened a bakery to bring panettone to...

Digital Turbine by Pentagram, 2022
Digital Turbine, the name draws the imagination towards a churn of pixels, the automation of online data. Pentagram expresses this as an ever-revolving, dispersing and converging set of modular blocks. While we’re far from the visible pixels of the past, this remains an immediate and universal motif that designers continue to dip into and used here as the foundation for...
Everybird by Marx Design
Few products have successfully integrated ethical, sustainable and environmental concerns with a product than coffee. It’s hard to imagine a time when the conditions of cultivation (both human and environmental) were not equal to flavour and – if we’re getting technical – whether the roast is blended or single origin. With its smaller volumes, the speciality coffee market has challenged...
Plenty by &Walsh
Agricultural practices are constantly changing to provide greater crop yields. In an effort to achieve this goal, modern farming has created a host of ecological side effects. Most notably, overconsumption of water and a reliance on chemical fertilisers, GMOs and pesticides. Plenty is an indoor vertical farm providing green produce to the masses through sustainable practices, using less space and...

Cottage M by Saint Urbain, 2022
A production ‘house’ called ‘Cottage M‘. The name is the logo and the logo the name. A simple idea. Light and shade, positive and negative space, counter-balance, dimensionality, the typographic and the pictorial are effectively employed by Saint Urbain to generate a unique and memorable form. The mind jumps between the two, a simple aha-moment serves memory and recall. iIs...
