Logotype and invitation by TM for Label Lab, The Forum for Label and Packaging Innovation, hosted by Arconvert.

Arconvert, a division of the Fedrigoni Group, will be hosting Label Lab, The Forum for Label and Packaging Innovation, on May 17th at Priory Church on St. John’s Square, London. The event will celebrate the aesthetics and craftsmanship of labelling and packaging design, and will showcase the materials of Fedrigoni’s labelling division Arconvert has to offer. The evening will also include talks by Pablo Martín of Atlas, Andy Giddings from Here Design, and Xavier Bas from Xavier Bas Disseny.

Design studio TM worked with Arconvert to pull together speakers and deliver a visual identity for Label Lab. This included an invitation that pushes the material component of the event, but also emphasises its relationship and interaction with type, colour and form in branding and packaging. These graphical elements then function to establish a distinctive and memorable continuity between invitation, programme and event website.

Brand identity and flyer for contemporary international art fair Collect, designed by Spin, London, UK

Collect is an international art fair that this year took place between the 2–6 of February at London’s Saatchi Gallery. Presented by the Crafts Council, Collect gave visitors the chance to see and buy museum-quality and contemporary ceramics, glass, jewellery, wood, metal and textiles created by established and emerging artists and makers represented by over thirty of the world’s best galleries.

Collect’s brand identity, designed by Spin, draws character, play and visual interest from an economical use of a single and fairly austere font, and a black and white colour palette, and went on to include a variety of print communications including leaflets and catalogue, art direction, animation, advertising, signage and environmental graphics.

Blå Bär by BVD, Sweden

Brand identity and bags by Swedish studio BVD for Blå Bär, an Osaka-based retailer of Scandinavian goods

Blå Bär (Swedish for blueberries) sells a variety miscellaneous goods from Scandinavia from its store in Osaka, Japan. These include, but are not limited to, glass and kitchenware, soft furnishings, ornaments and jewellery. Many of these could be described as having something of a shared Scandinavian simplicity of form, lightness of colour, natural material quality and cheerful character in pattern and imagery. These are displayed within a well-lit space that blends white walls and shelves, a light wood floor and storage, with the blue of its brand identity, created by Stockholm-based graphic design studio BVD. This appears as a solid matte colour wall, glossy counter, pattern detail and display case, and runs across the store’s packaging.
