JKR’s logo for Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a simplified version of a palm tree, sort of modified to look a little bit like a T, in that the top line is made totally flat, rather unlike a palm tree, but the serif-y fronds beneath certainly point you towards the plant it represents. It’s a beautifully crafted mark, thoroughly distinctive, quirky and certainly of its time. It’s a vast improvement on what came before, making the brand feel far more iconic across the most ubiquitous items.
