FranklinTill is a futures research agency working with lifestyle brands, design-orientated businesses and organisations in a variety of sectors to explore and implement design, material and colour innovation. Their services include conducting, analysing and communicating research and bringing this to life through strategic insights, publications and experiences.

FranklinTill’s clients essentially turn to them for insight into form, colour and material, and their innovative and sustainable outlook. This, in turn, informed the development of their new visual identity, created by London based Commission. This is characterised by a critical coalesce of form, colour and material composition that serve to link business cards, stationery set and pin badges. Online, colour and form is explored, absent the tactile qualities of print, through the abstraction and diffused quality of imagery.

Christopher Hall Somata Collection by Two Times Elliott

Christopher Hall is an internationally renowned furniture and interior designer from New Zealand with studios in London and Istanbul, with a third due to open in Barcelona soon. His interiors and bespoke furniture collections are characterised by a sensitive integration of the classical and the contemporary, a material refinement and sculptural elegance. Somata, his latest collection of 32 handcrafted pieces, is an allusion to the metamorphisms of mythology. This manifests itself within the forms and surfaces of stools, tables and cabinets, which often transition between the functional and sculptural.

Two Times Elliott, the studio behind Christopher Halls graphic identity, worked to develop promotional boxes and individual product sheets. Taking inspiration from the bespoke nature and conceptual foundation of Somata and the craft of Christopher Hall’s work at large, Two Times Elliott blend a detailed graphic pattern with a bespoke material and structural elegance.

UNSW Built Environment by Toko

Graphic identity designed by Toko for the UNSW Build Environment faculty and exhibition design for the annual Luminocity exhibition

UNSW Built Environment (BE) intends to develop global leaders in architecture, planning and construction, and help shape resilient, connected, smart and inclusive future cities through its undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research courses. As part of this, the faculty also runs an annual programme of events for students, academics, industry professionals and the general public. These serve as a platform to find out more about the faculty and raise the awareness of and seek to address critical issues that concern the built environment.

Australian design studio Toko worked with UNSW BE to develop a faculty graphic identity and the spacial design of their Luminocity exhibition; a collection of student projects drawn from all seven degree courses and bring to light what it might be like to design and build tomorrow’s cities. Assets included graduate and postgraduate guides, posters and website, signage, display system and layout.
