Branding and packaging for Swedish flour business Ramlösa Kvarn by Amore.

Ramlösa Kvarn is a family owned business that has been grinding flours for Swedish bakers since 1973. The company are flour experts, working to create a range of artisanal products specifically for breads, pizzas and pastry, and taking flours that were previously a professional secret and branding and packaging these for the broader consumer market. This branding and packaging was reworked in 2016 by Scandinavian graphic design studio and packaging specialist Amore, who replaced a tired and familiar design approach with one of distinction and individuality.

Erik Penser Bank provides its clients with independent financial advice and a high-level of personal service. While large banks do provide similar services, Erik Penser Bank is Sweden’s only dedicated private banking business.

Professionalism, experience and an individualised service practice are expressed by the bank’s new brand identity, created by Stockholm-based graphic design studio Bedow, through the personable and less corporate qualities of a monogram, which informs some distinctive pictograms, custom typeface, an earthy colour palette and some good quality papers, boards and print finishes. These are implemented across business cards, folders, forms and print communication.

Solrug by Bielke & Yang, Norway

Solrug is a high-quality, ready-cut, Finnish sourdough rye bread created for the Norwegian market by Magnus Högnäs, a Finnish expat living in Norway, and in response to the county’s poor wholemeal choice. The bread is dense with a strong flavour, low in sugar and salt but high in fibre and protein, and produced by Finnish bakery Leipomo Rosten Oy using only natural ingredients. Solrug’s packaging, designed by Oslo based graphic design studio Bielke & Yang, draws on and plays up to the bread and brand’s Finnish origins, through a bright panel of Finnish stereotypes, drawn by Finnish illustrator Rami Niemi.
