Pedro Vareta Studio are so pleased with their logotype for Ela Vinhos they made a cute little gif to show us how each letter is informed by the contours of a red wine bottle. It’s wholly unnecessary, it’s totally felt, it doesn’t need an explanation. The full logotype is gorge, full of character, even the abbreviated ‘E’ symbol, used on their website holds some of this character. The balance of positive and negative space and the cropped half bottles give the ‘E’ enough of a personality to be ownable, even the trademark office agrees, bestowing a ®. As a bottling and finishing service, the stacked bottles also feel a little industrious, as if they’re rolling off the production line.
